Hertz car rental to go green international by 2011

Most of the car rental companies are going green by introducing electric cars in their fleet which has become a rapidly growing phenomenon in big cities and keeping in toe with this trend Hertz has gone ahead and become the first car rental company to go green international. The company will be offering Nissan LEAF at selected sites in Europe and US by 2011.
Nissan LEAF is an electric vehicle which is recharged by lithium ion battery. This zero emission car carries up to five passengers and can be recharged both at home or fast charging stations. It covers 160 km with a top speed of 90 miles per hour.
Hertz even plans to make Nissan LEAF a part of the vehicle selection offered by Connect by Hertz, its car sharing service. This step is expected to give a boost to the technology encouraging people to buy electric cars. It's possible that they will be trialled in other car leasing deals, too.
