Car Rental Project In New York City
A new pilot project is currently being tested in New York City. A car sharing program, which has had much success in other areas is now being implemented in New York City. Individuals and tourists will be invited to rent a car through Zipcar, the car rental company behind the testing.
The project aims to minimize the amount of traffic congestion and public transport issues arising in the busy streets of the city. The aim is to reduce the city's 26,00 vehicle fleet. Individuals will be allowed to hire out the cars on evenings and weekends. The project will be running for one year after it will then be reviewed to find out whether or not it met it's aim.
