Leasing Of Rental Cars In Recall To End, According To Latest NY Bill
The law that allows rental car agencies to continue providing customers with vehicles named in safety recalls should be closed according to a U.S. senator. Sen Charles Schumer, D-N Y. wants to hold rental car agencies same power as car dealers. Till damages done to cars are not repaired the dealers are not supposed to sell their rental cars, he added. The American Car Rental Association remained unavailable for comment on this issue. This move has come after two women recently died in California when their rental car caught fire. He said the car model was a subject of a safety recall and the problem was unfixed. He narrated few statistics saying that half of the rental cars on recall notices were usually repaired a year after the notification.
