© calamity_salDo you know that your car can turn into a money making machine even when you are not using it? WhipCar, a car rental website enables motorists to register their cars for renting ranging from few hours to few weeks to their neighborhood.
You can register on the website for free and rent out your car without creating an impact on insurance. The average cost of car ownership stands at £5,523 per year and for most of the people their car is their most valuable idle asset.
As per Vinay Gupta, WhipCar:
Our research has shown that there are many people who would be happy to pay for car rental services if they could be delivered locally. WhipCar enables owners to put their cars to work, and for those in need they can literally rent the car next door.
The company claims that it is world's first neighbor to neighbor car rental service and it also aims to promote the concept of green by bringing down the number of cars running on the road.
The website aims to change the concept of car usage and ownership in UK where more than 29 million registered cars on the road lie idle for more than 23 hours a day. Signing up for the service is free but the website charges 15% commission on car rental cost and notifies owners by text and email when there is an approved driver in the area looking to use the car.
All cars and drivers are screened by the company before booking is completed and every journey is insured through comprehensive insurance package.
